"On the second full day of our trip, we were taken to a separate part of the Tioman Island to go on a trek and gain more knowledge about the work that goes behind turtle conservation projects.
Initially, most of us were not excited about the trek, especially after hearing about the different obstacles that needed to be covered from the group that visited the place the day before. Even though we started with low hopes, the negativity somehow managed to exit our minds as we started to appreciate the structure and serenity of nature. There were sections of our climb that were rather difficult, but working collaboratively as a team, helping one another and making sure we were aware of the difficulties coming ahead made it a lot more enjoyable and made us a closer community. The reward of this trek was an outstandingly beautiful waterfall. The fresh water was so calming that most of us, who hadn’t planned to swim, were compelled to take a dip.
Upon our descent from the waterfall, and after a lunch by the beach, we moved on to an informative talk about turtle conservation. It was truly inspirational to learn about and help save a creature so important to our ecosystem.
Overall, the day's activities filled with memorable experiences were very unique and will be cherished by us for a long time."
